The PGC was organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Ju Jutsu department of the ESV Ludwigshafen. It was held for the first time in 2008. After a break in 2010, it has become a permanent fixture in the grappling calendar since 2011. As a small tournament, the PGC is very popular with participants of all levels of experience.
